  • Proposal development
  • Library and internet research strategies
  • Critical reading and argument analysis
  • Paper organization, outlining, drafting, and documentation
  • APA formatting and citation
  • Techniques of exposition (e.g., illustration, analogy, comparison and contrast, classification, division, process analysis, and definition)
  • Microelements of writing such as paragraph structure, sentence construction, spelling, punctuation, and mechanics

The course emphasizes the use of digital tools and online resources in modern research and guides students through the entire writing process—from source gathering to final formatting.
