Welcome aboard! I’m so excited to begin this musical journey with you into some of the most powerful, soulful, and socially transformative genres in American music history.
In this course, we’ll explore the deep roots and cultural impact of Blues, Jazz, Gospel, and Ragtime—sounds born from struggle, resilience, hope, and innovation. We’ll learn not just how this music was made, but why it mattered—and still does today.
