This course will present students with a framework for understanding Black psychology and the factors that affect the structure, evolution, and function of African Americans in the United States, people of African descent, and the Diaspora by examining the historical and cultural aspects of the Black experience from an African-centered perspective. This course is intended to add critical thinking skills via the use of African and psychological concepts by engaging students in an analysis of the history and literature of African Diaspora and their descendants in America.
