This course focuses on the use of manipulatives in grades K-6. Students move from the concrete level with manipulative to the connecting and abstract levels. Topics include place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percent, measurements, Geometry, logic, probability, problem-solving, estimation, Algebra, and graphing. Mathematics as communication will also be discussed. Participants have the opportunity to discuss and modify the activities for their particular grade level.
