Addresses social, political, and educational issues affecting the Hispanic/Latinx community. Improves educator knowledge and understanding of Hispanic/Latinx history, culture, schooling, and academic achievement issues. Covers a variety of topics impacting educational communities that are culturally and linguistically diverse with a focus on culturally responsive pedagogy. Develops critical reading and analytical writing skills through short stories, novels, plays, essays, and poetry from Spain, Latin America, and U.S. Hispanic/Latinx authors.
